A Chester PR intern has earned a full-time role after impressing bosses at a Boughton business.

Marketing graduate John Brown, 22, of Tarvin, has been appointed as junior account executive with award-winning de Winter PR and Marketing after approaching the company in July for work experience.

John said: “It’s really tough for new graduates to get that first job and I knew that I had to do something that would make me stand out from the crowd. I wrote blogs and kept in contact with de Winter and I was lucky enough to be offered a placement over the summer.

“I just worked as hard as I could and tried to learn as much as possible, so it felt great when I was asked to join the team permanently. The agency has some big ideas and it’s really exciting to see them come to life.”

Managing director, Kate Cox, added: “We regularly offer young people the opportunity to come in and gain work experience, it can be a tough industry to break into.

“John has seized the opportunity with both hands and really impressed us with his excellent work ethic and passion.”

de Winter offers services including design, digital, social media and PR. The agency celebrated its 25th anniversary this year with the opening of a Liverpool office.
