CHESHIRE West and Chester Council’s economic development team has launched two business grant schemes to support new and expanding busineses in the area.
Individuals can apply for funding between £500 for Start-up and up to £2,000 for small developing businesses.
Cllr Stuart Parker, chairman of the Recession Recovery Committee, said: “The grant scheme aims to encourage job creation and retention and, where possible, diversification of the economy.
“Grants are discretionary to help new and existing businesses with viable projects where the awarding of a grant will have a significant impact.”

The Business Grant Schemes will provide support for developing businesses within the area. Applications must meet the following priorities:
The Business Start-up grant is open to enterprises that have started trading or registered with HMRC Revenues and Customs for up to a maximum of three months.
Applicants must provide evidence that they have received formal business advice from a recognised source and have an up-to-date business plan.
The grants panel must be satisfied that the business is viable and the grant is necessary for the purposes of starting up.
All grants are discretionary (ie, not automatic). Grant sum available to a maximum of £500.
