Not many people under the age of 25 can claim to be running successful businesses but hard-working Cheshire entrepreneurs Kelly Lee and Tim Igoe have shown that age is no barrier to success with their hard work and commitment already reaping rewards.
Kelly and Tim run MyDelightful.co.uk, a wholesale cake packaging and baking accessories one-stop-shop for bakeries, cafes, cake designers and home bakers which has already achieved international sales in their first week of trading.
Former Helsby High School student Kelly, 23, who comes from Ashton Hayes and has worked in the cake industry for four years, became frustrated at not always being offered the best prices when ordering smaller volumes and she spotted a gap in the market to provide a ‘no minimum spend and free delivery’ business model.

Partnering with internet expert Tim, 24, who also runs a design and marketing business, they’ve developed MyDelightful.co.uk, launching their website last month.
Baking back in fashion
With the success of the TV show The Great British Bake Off, baking is back in fashion and Kelly and Tim’s uniquely competitive service is ideally positioned, catering for home bakers and large bakeries alike.
With no financial backing, the business team found starting the business very challenging. “We’re both very young and so we couldn’t get finance to get our idea off the ground so we took on extra jobs to fund the start-up. Our progress and customer feedback in such a short space of time has been incredible and we also hope that we’re showing our age group that it doesn’t matter how young you are, anything is possible,” said Kelly.

Tim added: “We’ve worked every evening and weekend since I can remember but it’s been worth it and to receive orders from outside of the UK is fantastic.”
Despite their achievements, Kelly and Tim aren’t resting on their laurels and are constantly expanding their product range and developing the business to include bespoke branded packaging, menus and promotional items.
