EMPLOYEES and volunteers at North West deafness charity, Deafness Support Network (DSN) have wrapped up in the name of Big Energy Saving Week.

Staff from the Chester branch joined forces with their colleagues across the county, in Northwich and Macclesfield, turning the heating down to raise awareness about saving energy as well as raise funds for the charity.

The charity, which is IEMA Acorn accredited, prides itself on the Government scheme recognition and continues to actively evaluate and improve their environmental performance through the implementation of their environmental management system.

Staff offered up a £1 donation to take part while getting involved in a Facebook competition where DSN’s social media fans were asked to vote for the best, worst and silliest jumpers.

Amy Lacamp, the organiser of the fundraising event, said: “We can all be guilty of turning the heating up rather than putting an extra layer on, so our energy saving awareness day was a great way of making people think twice.

“As an added bonus we also raised valuable funds for the Philippines Disaster Fund too.”
