CHESTER solicitor, Mrs Darlene Storrar has recently taken over the chairmanship of the Lady Taverners from Chris Talbot.

Chris started the Chester and North Wales branch of The Lady Taverners 15 years ago, and became chairman of The North West six years ago.

The Lady Taverners is part of The Lords Taverners’ cricket charity, a voluntary organisation, which raises money to give young people – particularly those disabled or disadvantaged– a sporting chance

Mrs Talbot said: “Fundraising is hard work though very fulfilling. The hard part is coming up with new ideas for events. I have been lucky and had the support of a great committee of girls. I will miss them, as I will miss the smiles on the faces of the children when we visit the schools presenting them with buses or sports equipment.”

Mrs Talbot has decided to take a back seat as her daughter Annabel who lives in Australia, gave birth to a daughter Matilda Rose in January. Her son, Damian lives in Dubai. Chris and her husband Gary, former Chester footballer and international portrait photographer, want to spend more time with them.
