A fast food sandwich outlet has confirmed it is opening a fourth outlet in Chester alongside what is rumoured to be a second Home Bargains store in the city.

The new Subway store will open this summer on the Greyhound Retail Park, off Greyhound Park Road, which will be in addition to the nearby outlet in Sealand Road as well as other stores in Northgate Street and Foregate Street.

There is speculation the next door unit will be another Home Bargains to complement the original store in Boughton, although this has not been confirmed by the company which is sticking to the line that ‘it is not on the current planner at the moment’.

These two units on the Greyhound Retail Park are being converted into a Subway on the right and there is a strong rumour the left hand premises will become Chester's second Home Bargains store

Neil Denny, Subway regional development agent, commented: “We are pleased to announce a new Subway store will open this summer at the Greyhound Retail Park in Chester.

“The new store will open in July and is set to create 10 part-time and full-time jobs in the local community. The store will be larger than the nearby Sealand Road location, but will offer the same great range of popular Subway Subs, salads and flat-breads, alongside drinks and snacks.

There is currently a Subway down the road on Sealand Road next to Johnsons the Cleaners and the Central Tyre depot

“The Subway brand is made up of hundreds of local entrepreneurs who have worked hard to build up their businesses in their local community, creating jobs for local people. This new store is in direct response to the increasing consumer demand in the area for affordable, healthier choices offered by the Subway brand, and we’re sure that the new store will be a great success.

“There are numerous franchise opportunities across the North West region, many of which will be in smaller towns or out of town and rural locations. Opportunities with the Subway brand are available for entrepreneurs looking to invest in their own local high street, providing a new retail offering and job creation for their community.”
