FESTIVE staff at Chester-based MBNA have donated 120 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts to young children across the world.

The boxes have been collected in support of Operation Christmas Child – a project which aims to ensure girls and boys from deprived regions have a gift to open on Christmas day.

Katerina Shone, MBNA’s charity co-ordinator, said: “Christmas is a time for giving and Operation Christmas Child is a fantastic project which supports disadvantaged children in places such as Africa, eastern Europe and central Asia.

“Many of our staff spent time at the charity’s warehouse this year, helping to sort and ship boxes to make sure they’re delivered in time for Christmas.”
