The managing director of The Chester Grosvenor Hotel has has been shortlisted in the European Hospitality Awards.

Jonathan Slater is shortlisted as Hotelier of The Year, an accolade awarded to those who have shown excellence in their career, making a difference to the hotel in reputation, service and new business.

Other nominees come from far and wide across Europe and include properties such as Le Bristol Paris, Grand Hotel Hessischier HOF in Frankfurt, The Stafford and The Bloomsbury Hotel, both in London.

Jonathan said: “On a personal level I’m delighted to be nominated for such a prestigious award. However, I’m very fortunate to be supported by a loyal and close knit team who share my passion for this unique hotel and my commitment to the highest standards of hospitality and customer service. Therefore our successes, individual or otherwise, are very much a team effort.”

He added: “I’m prouder still that The Chester Grosvenor and the city of Chester have shown once again that we can rival the great European capitals in terms of our offering. Our rivals for this award are from hotels in Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt and London, so to be nominated says a great deal, not just about me and my role but the hotel and the appeal of our region.”

Jonathan Slater will meet his competition at a glittering awards service in London on the November 7 which will also be attended by lifetime achievement award winner, Sir Rocco Forte.
