Oliver Yeates, CEO of Chester-based digital marketing agency Clicky Media, has been named the Outstanding Cheshire and Warrington Business Leader in the High Sheriff’s Awards 2014/2015.

Oliver Yeates receives the award for Outstanding Cheshire and Warrington Business Leader

At a ceremony at Chester’s Town Hall, in March, Oliver, founder and CEO of Clicky Media, won the only category awarded to an individual.

Oliver, who founded Clicky Media in 2003, employs 25 people in its city centre offices on Vicars Lane and counts the likes of Ted Baker, Channel 4, Manchester City Council, Olympus and Dualit among its clients.

Clicky Media was named Standout Agency of the Year in the Digital Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2014 and Oliver himself won Digital and Media Entrepreneur of the Year at the North West Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2013.

Paul Taylor, managing director of Taylor Business Park and vice chair of Cheshire Business Leaders, interviewed Oliver as part of the award’s selection process.

He said: “Oliver clearly stood out as the visionary and entrepreneurial leader we were looking for in the High Sheriff’s Awards.

“One of the things we really liked about the direction in which Oliver has led Clicky Media is that he has clearly created a wonderful, nurturing and creative environment for new local talent across a diverse range of skills that is successfully competing against what are often much larger agencies elsewhere in the North West.

“Clicky Media are a fine reminder to us all that if you want good suppliers and services then we have everything we need right here on our doorstep. Oliver is a very worthy winner.”

Oliver said: “What makes this award extra special is that it recognises businesses that have contributed to the growth of the local economy. As director of a Chester SME, l’m proud to employ local talented people that are committed and dedicated to their work and going the extra mile.

“It’s been a privilege to lead the growth of Clicky Media, and to be recognised by business leaders in Cheshire and Warrington as someone who has vision and leadership is a meaningful accolade. I have big growth plans for Clicky Media and l look forward to continuing to contribute to Chester’s business growth.”
