A CHESTER finance company which is successfully biting back at the credit crunch has just launched a new multi-level recruitment drive.

The Funding Corporation on Chester Business Park hopes to fill the positions, which range from senior managers to NVQ trainees, with local candidates.

The company's latest personnel quest, says managing director David Challinor, is essential to maintain its present growth in the motor finance market.

Ten job vacancies are immediately on offer, and additional posts will be advertised over the coming three months in departments variously dealing with compliance, sales, accounting, and call centre operations.

“This is proving a remarkable year for us in terms of both finance enquiries and sales, not least because mainstream lenders are now turning away increasing numbers of loan applicants,” said Mr Challinor.

“We provide a safety net which allows many declined borrowers to obtain a car. This is hardly ever a luxury item, but an essential means for them to sustain an income through employment.

“The Funding Corporation is forecasting continued growth, but we can only maintain the present impetus by recruiting across virtually all aspects of our business," he added.

Mr Challinor hopes the company's local reputation as a dynamic and caring employer will help attract top-flight applicants from within the immediate area.

He points out that staff retention at The Funding Corporation is excellent with just a 2.6 percent annual turnover of employees, compared with the national average of 13.5 percent.

Although most of the current vacancies ask for previous experience, The Funding Corporation is also maintaining its commitment to preparing and equipping local youngsters for financial careers.

The company's recruitment list includes junior posts which offer internal and external training, and lead to nationally recognised vocational qualifications.

The company, formed ten years ago, employs some 215 staff - and earlier in 2011 was named Britain's Most Responsible Lender in a major finance industry business award scheme.
