ALIENS have been spotted riding on the invention of a Chester entrepreneur – in a Hollywood blockbuster.

Trixie Trunki, created by Chester-born Rob Law, features in Aliens in the Attic when she is ridden by the supernatural being who later hides inside her.

Rob, 31, treated his team to a screening of the film last week.

The Trunki website jokes: “Ever since the film was released, the phone hasn't stopped ringing with agents trying to sign Trixie up. She's now set her sights on becoming the first Trunki to ever win an Oscar!”

BBC 2 show Dragon's Den: On Tour will track some of the successes and failures of Dragon's Den at 9pm on Sunday. Dragon Theo Paphitis, the man who tore a strap from a prototype Trunki before declaring “I'm out”, visited Rob at the headquarters of his growing business.

Alongside his award-winning cases, Rob showed an array of new products including the cuddly neck rest Yondi and the new limited edition ladybird Trunki, called Harley.

Paphitis told him: “I’m impressed with how far you have taken the Trunki brand, and achieving a turnover of a million is fantastic. You’ve come a long way.”

Rob and his design team created a special Trunki for Paphitis, featuring straps with reinforced padlocks – a nod to Rob's first appearance on Dragons’ Den in 2006, when Paphitis ripped off the strap.

Former Tarporley High pupil Rob, who grew up in Oscroft, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Theo to Trunki’s den. He’s an astute businessman and this was a great opportunity for me to put some strategic business questions to him.

“He’s got a good sense of humour and although he didn’t originally invest in Trunki, he was pleased to see us doing well in the current climate.”
