CHESTER accountants Mitchell Charlesworth has made a brace of new appointments to bolster its operations.

The leading North West accountancy firm has recruited marketing manager Jonathan Cannock and internally promoted Paul Burton to the position of associate in the audits and accounts department.

Mr Burton, 37, joined Mitchell Charlesworth in 2004 and has spent more than 18 years in practice at both small and medium sized accountancy firms.

Having qualified in 1998 he has experience managing audits and accounts for large family companies and partnerships together with insurance, charitable and professional clients.

He said: “Mitchell Charlesworth has a reputation as one of the finest chartered accountants in the region and I am delighted with the promotion. The firm is a dynamic, forward thinking, entrepreneurially-minded operation. We have a highly-respected team here in Manchester and I am proud to now be an associate.”

Mr Cannock, 26, from Chester, is a Durham and Manchester University graduate with a masters in marketing. He previously worked as a business development and marketing manager for human resources firm Park City Consulting Ltd in Essex. He will now work out of the Mitchell Charlesworth Chester office.

He said: “This is a great opportunity to develop my career and I will be focusing on delivering an engaging marketing strategy to drive greater awareness of the firm and the broad range of services it offers.

“I am currently focusing on e-marketing campaigns using the social media platform to boost the firm’s 21st century image.”
