A chartered accountant based at Cheshire Oaks is celebrating an impressive achievement at a national awards ceremony.

Desirie Lea, director at Morris & Co Chartered Accountants based on the Cheshire Oaks Business Park in Ellesmere Port, achieved Highly Commended in the Practitioner of the Year category at the prestigious British Accountancy Awards.

More than 600 guests from all regions of the UK attended the event which was held at The Brewery in London.

Winners were chosen by a panel of industry experts from various organisations including PwC, Taylor Wessing, KPMG and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Competition was tough with a total of seven individuals making it on to the short list.

Desirie said: “I was honoured to learn that I had been shortlisted in the Practitioner of the Year category and absolutely delighted to be runner up and awarded Highly Commended.

“Although it is a personal award, I owe a lot of my success to the very dedicated team at Morris & Co that work alongside me to ensure that the highest standard of client service is maintained. It is really due in large part to their hard work and professionalism.

“I am passionate about accountancy and delivering the best possible pro-active service to my clients which helps them to not only grow their business, but gives them peace of mind that accounting advice is only ever an email or phone call away.”

Since becoming a director, Desirie has increased her portfolio of clients by 400% and also offers specialist accountancy advice to the ophthalmic and franchise sectors.
