In conjunction with Liverpool Vision and Halton Borough Council, The Heath Business and Technical Park in Runcorn is to host an exciting event in June this year as it welcomes a global audience to Halton as part of the UK’s International Festival of Business (IFB).
Held on Thursday, June 26, the event will be focusing on the theme of ‘Addressing the Skills Needs of the Science, Technology and Advanced Manufacturing Sector.’
The day aims to provide local, regional and international companies with the opportunity to learn more about the skills training and recruitment support available across the Liverpool city region and beyond.
BBC Breakfast show presenter Steph McGovern will open the event, lending her wide knowledge of the business world and engineering background to an audience of more than 120 delegates.
Following her key note speech, Steph will then chair a Question Time style business debate discussing the theme of the day in more detail. The panel will welcome guests such as David Parr, Chief Executive of Halton Borough Council, Derek Twigg MP and senior business leaders from within the region.
John Lewis, managing director of SOG Ltd, owner and operator of The Heath, commented: “We are delighted Steph McGovern has agreed to be our keynote speaker for this important event. Steph is not only a high-profile business presenter on the Breakfast programme but she also has a very keen interest in science and engineering.”
An exhibition and networking forum will lead the event into the afternoon, allowing businesses to engage with both the region’s business community and local young people in order to create a greater enthusiasm in careers in the science, technology and advanced manufacturing fields.
Alongside the business event, The Heath will open its doors to local schools, colleges and further education providers, offering the opportunity to speak with experts in a variety of careers and engage in specialist workshops provided by Catalyst Science Discovery Centre.
The Heath’s IFB event is part of a 50- day festival that is taking place across seven weeks in June and July and is being hosted by the Liverpool city region. From high profile speakers and debate panels to exhibitions and careers workshops, The Heath’s International Festival of Business event is one not to be missed.
