Helsby High School students and staff have grins as wide as the Cheshire Cat today, as those who sat A-levels this year achieved a 98% pass rate.

Provisional analysis reveals 82% of grades were A* to C, while 56% were A* to B and 32% of students achieved at least two A* or A grades amongst their results.

Fifteen students achieved at least three A* or A grades.

Headteacher John Dowler said: “We are very proud of the outstanding set of exam results produced by our students.

“I know how hard they have worked and this, together with the support and guidance from staff and home, has resulted in some fantastic achievements.

“I should like to wish all students every success in the future and to thank them for their contributions during their time at Helsby High School.”
