IT’S been another good year for The Hammond in Chester where students have achieved 100% passes at A-level.

The performing arts school is particularly delighted at its students’ success because they work in a busy, tiring environment where time is at a premium.

Many students are working towards the National Diploma (level 6) in dance or musical theatre and the remainder are studying, alongside their A levels, BTEC (level 3) in performing arts (acting).

Results in this latter course have also this year been excellent with the majority of students gaining awards at distinction level.

Among the young people celebrating their success was Cameron Chalmers, writer of A Sea of Trees, which will be performed by the Grosvenor Park Open Air Youth Theatre on August 18-19.

Principal Maggie Evans said: “We are always impressed with the excellent performance of our students, both in the classroom and on the stage, and wish those students who are leaving The Hammond this summer all the best in their future careers.”
