Do you enjoy a trip down the A55 from Chester to sample the delights of the North Wales coast?

Kris Williams is a 40-year-old amateur landscape photographer from Beaumaris, Anglesey. He takes incredible pictures like this:

He works full-time, but spends his nights camped out in some of North Wales' most beautiful places capturing shots like this:

"When I’m not working, I live and breathe photography," he says.

"Generally landscape photography is best in sunrise or sunset light anyway, but I also do a lot of night photography which I got really interested in a few years ago."

"It does mean you can lose a lot of sleep when out late at night photographing the Milky Way or chasing aurora displays, but it’s manageable, and it’s not every night that happens anyway… more’s the pity."

"I started taking nightscape images a few years ago and it’s an area of photography that I enjoy the most. They tend to be the most popular of my images because you are giving people an insight into views that they don’t otherwise see, or not very often maybe, of starry skies over what might be familiar places to them which gives the photo a much more otherworldly and ethereal feeling."

"It’s a great time to be out and about anyway, the night sky is magical, when the skies are clear enough to see it, and we’re blessed with quite dark skies here in parts of North Wales."

"I first got interested and started dabbling with landscape photography back in around 2008, got really interested in it and haven’t looked back since.

"Living in surroundings such as Anglesey and Snowdonia does mean I’m a bit spoiled for choice when it comes to nice views too."

"Am I a professional photographer? I would consider myself a hobby photographer really, as I mainly take pictures purely for my own enjoyment - but I do also exhibit and sell my work"

"I have been very fortunate to have my images short-listed in a number of national and international awards, such as Royal Observatory Greenwich’s Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2014 & 2015, Outdoor Photographer of the Year 2014 and Landscape Photographer of the Year 2015."

"I am currently exhibiting some images along-with a good friend and landscape photographer Helen Iles, in Venue Cymru, Llandudno until September 30, and my work is also available to view and buy in Janet Bell Gallery in Beaumaris ."

"There's nothing like being stood on the Snowdonian summits at 3000ft above sea-level to make you feel small at any time. But sat here after sunset and into the night watching the various cities, towns and village streetlights below and in the distance blink into life just amplified that feeling. "

"My favourite spot to take pictures..? A tough one, so I would just have to say the Anglesey Coastal Path, since that gives me the whole of the coastline to play around with, and it’s got it all, it’s a very special and beautiful island."
