These photographs, taken in the early 1990s, show just how much Sealand Road in Chester has changed over the past 25 years.

Kindly submitted to us by former Chester City FC chairman Ray Crofts, the images, taken in 1990-1993, show life before the current Tesco superstore and before much of the Greyhound Park we recognise today, was built.

Back then there was a shopping park on the Tesco site that included a Kwik Save, a shoe shop and an electronics shop. The former home of Chester (City) FC, the Sealand Road Stadium, is still standing in these photographs, but it wouldn't be long before the fondly remembered ground was demolished.

A far cry from how it looks today.
