Chester's latest Italian restaurant has only been open for six weeks but it's already proving a huge hit with foodies in the city.

And as The Yard celebrates currently being listed as Trip Advisor's fifth top eatery in Chester, the family-owned restaurant on City Road is holding an Italian Wine and Food Tasting evening on Wednesday July 8 from 7pm.

The evening is being held in association with Corks Out and will include a one off special five-course Italian menu with a glass of wine with each course.

On the menu for £49 per person is Essence of tomato and melon, pastrami cured salmon on a sour cream bagel with croutes, followed by wild mushroom sweetbread, and black truffle risotto, roast Gooosnargh chicken and spring vegetables and passionfruit mess.

The Yard, Chester, is already proving a hit with Chester customers

The Sciarrillo family from Flintshire who originate from Naples, took over the former Bellyfull Carribbean restaurant in May to open The Yard, a traditional Italian eatery with a modern twist.

Their locally sourced food is freshly prepared by their head chef who has previously worked with Gordon Ramsay and Paul Heathcote MBE.

Owner Ettorino Sciarrillo told The Chronicle at the time: "We want to bring modern Italian food to the heart of Chester. Our menu is full of exhilirating dishes that will get your taste buds tingling."
