Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription whereby you pay £10 per month and get a rather delightful box of beauty goodies delivered to your door.

This is a great way of keeping in the loop when it comes to niche brands and on-trend beauty products. If you love items of the beauty variety, Glossybox is probably your kind of thing.

It costs £10 per month plus £2.50 postage and packaging and you get a hand-picked selection of five miniature/tester products in a beautifully presented box delivered directly to your door once a month. Sometimes, the lovely folk at Glossybox HQ even throw in a full-sized product or two – cheeky!

Don’t get disheartened gentlemen – there’s one for you too. For £15 quarterly, you can revel in the delights of some rather fancy male grooming products. As I am not a gentleman, I am subscribed to the ladies' Glossybox. Here's what I was surprised with in June 2012:

Glossybox beauty product 1: Glossybox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush

The exclusive Glossybox blush brush retails at £15 each. Personally, I think this is a little too much. While the brush is soft and well-made, I don't think it's worth £15.00.

Glossybox say: "This classic series natural goat hair blush brush gives a supersoft make-up application".

Glossybox beauty product 2: Yves Rocher France mini mascara with ultra-volume sexy plump

This is another one that I wasn't too pleased with. (I hate saying that because it makes me feel nasty, but this is an honest review). It retails at £16.90, which I think is far too expensive. It works as a mascara, but I've used better ones in my time. While the mascara does the job ofan average mascara, and the travel size is great for taking on holiday, I definitely wouldn't recommend spending £16.90 on this.

Glossybox says: "An innovative maxi-brush with generous curves for a lash plumping result. 12-hour wear."

Glossybox beauty product 3:BM Beauty summer warmth bronzer

I love this. Apply it to your cheekbones for a beautiful bronzed glow. It's made from minerals so it won't clog your pores and break you out in spots - always a bonus in my book.

Glossybox says: "Multi-purpose pure-mineral bronzer. Add a touch of summer warmth to your face." - I whole-heartedly agree Glossybox!

Glossybox beauty product 4:Clean Start by Dermalogica Day/Night 3-step kit

I've not used this for long enough to give an accurate review on it yet, but I'm liking what I've seen so far. Kandee Johnson is a huge fan of this brand, which puts it in good stead.

Glossybox says: "Cleanse, tone and moisturise with the Day/Night 3-step mini kit".

Glossybox beauty product 5: Vichy Dermablend ultra-corrective foundation cream stick

This is far too heavy for my skin. It did cover up my flaws and imperfections, but it looked really cakey at the same time. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have flaws or imperfections that you desperately want to hide. I would only recommend wearing it at night to avoid looking overdone in the daylight hours.

Glossybox says: "Vichy's expert camouflage foundation stick for minor to severe skin flaws".

My opinion on this month's Glossybox? Honestly, I don't think it was the best. It's probably been my least favourite so far, with my most favourite being April's organic themed box. Glossybox has introduced me to some pretty amazing products since I subscribed.

Some of them I can’t live without, others I tore out of the packaging with excitement and never looked at again – it’s all just luck of the draw. The one product you dislike, might be something that someone else can’t live without. I suggest that beauty lovers across the world try out Glossybox or one of its overseas’ counterparts. It’s like having a blind date with some high-end beauty products, and you never know what you might discover...
