The party people of Chester now have two new venues to spend their evenings.

The Roof Lounge at 1539 ran its second Twisted Elegance night on October 11. Held monthly, the packed out roof space was overflowing with a well-heeled Chester crowd dancing to house music in an elegant and exclusive environment.

Look out for their next event themed as a Hallowe’en Masquerade Party takes place on Saturday, November 1. Spaces are limited so get in early to avoid disappointment.

The Mockingbird Taproom on Watergate Street held its VIP launch party on October 10.

The new venue is the latest addition to the Cheshire-based New Moon Pub Company’s portfolio and comes on the back of their prestigious Business of the Year award which they won at the 2014 Cheshire Business Awards, run by The Chronicle’s parent company Trinity Mirror.

High profile North West chef David Mooney is the chef patron and his co-owner is ex-Living Ventures director Paul Newman. Dave is already well known in Chester for his demonstrations at the annual Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Festival.

Paul has lived in Chester for 10 years and has worked for Chester-based Classic Wines and Spirits and opened The Living Room and the Blackhouse Grill.

He said: “Chester has always been on our list of priorities for a site, we have just been waiting for the right venue to come up. We are delighted we have got this site - it was perfect for our concept.”
