Students  from Bishop Heber High School were delighted to present a cheque for more than £600 to the Rural Community Project which will go towards funding Malpas as a Dementia Friendly Community.

John Webb, chairman of Malpas Parish Council, received the cheque on behalf of the project, in which the school’s sixth form students and Assistant sixth form leader  Ann Jordan, are involved.

They are currently receiving training to give support to patients with dementia after the launch of the project in January.

The sum of £676 was raised as part of the  events students support each year.
