MOTORISTS have been facing delays on their way home for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend after three cars collided on the M56.

Just after 4pm, fire crews from Chester and Ellesmere Port were called to the scene on the eastbound carriageway between junctions 12-14 at Hapsford services, and worked with the Highways Agency personnel to direct traffic around the incident.

Lane one and the hard shoulder were closed to allow for ambulance access and delays are still expected.

Nobody is believed to have been injured in the accident. More information from the Cheshire Fire and Rescue is expected.
