Photographs from a Chester school trip to China have won two school girls prizes in a national competition.

Two Queen’s School girls entered into the IOE Confucius Institute’s Young Photographers’ Competition after their school trip this summer.

They found out last week that both girls won prizes.

Eleanor Wood Bowyer, 14, from Wrexham, won the Impressions Portfolio Photograph category and Sophia Hilton, 14, from Chester, was runner-up in the Unexpected China single photograph competition with her picture.

Sophia Hilton's winning photograph - The Fusion of New and Old

Eleanor receives £200 of Amazon vouchers and Sophia £50 of vouchers. Both girls will now see their work displayed at the Institute of Education in Central London.
