A flower shop is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Holly Rose Florist opened up on Underwood Drive, Whitby in 2005 named after Victoria Hughes’s small daughter, now aged 11 and at high school.

“We have come so far establishing the business over the years with lots of small businesses struggling in today’s economic crisis,” said Victoria.

“We have also had some quiet times like everybody so we are so pleased to get to this 10-year milestone.”

The florists caters for occasions including weddings, christenings, funerals, birthdays, Valentine’s and Mother’s day. Their extensive range of designs and styles runs from handheld bouquets to cake and table decorations.

Victoria admits the success would not have been possible without the support of husband Keith and her parents looking after the children at busy times ‘and a special thank you to my dad Denis, I couldn’t of done it without him.’

Also on the special thank you list is Hilary ‘she has been with me since the start and together we make a really good team’.

Victoria added: “I like to think that we are still here due to the professional and friendly service we provide along with great quality flowers and that extra attention to detail that the supermarkets can not provide.

“We have arranged lots of beautiful weddings on the way and also lovely funeral work for that less than happy time but hope that our friendly service helps the customer at their very difficult time.

“So we deal with happy and very sad occasions all dealt with with that extra special care and service.”

For the future she says: “We are looking forward to a busy Valentine’s Day on the 14th then Mother’s Day in March.

“So with a big thank you to all of our lovely loyal customers that keep us in business and here’s to the next 10 years at Holly Rose.”
