Aa part of their controlled assessment for geography, GCSE students at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School went to Wirral to investigate the need for different approaches to defend the coast.

They surveyed the coastline from Wallasey Embankment through to New Brighton and measured the slope angles at Leasowe.

Staff and students at Ellesmere Port Catholic High geography department are also celebrating their success in achieving the secondary geography quality mark Centre of Excellence.

This prestigious award secures additional funding to develop the curriculum within geography and with other departments through cross-curricular links.
