A PROGRAMME of weekly health walks tilted Get Fit on Foot are taking place in the Chester area.
Cheshire West and Chester Council, in partnership with Western Cheshire NHS and Age UK, has organised the programme.
The weekly walks are run by volunteers who are committed to providing opportunities for people in the Cheshire West area to get out and about on foot.
The walks are free and take place in lovely areas in the neighbourhood. The routes vary in distance between one and three miles, and walk leaders are there to guide you.
Following circular routes, the walks last between one and one-and-a-half hours, offering a manageable form of regular exercise to build into your weekly routine.
Sports development officer Sarah Parry said: “Get Fit on Foot offers the perfect opportunity for people to exercise and explore their local environment on foot.
“Not only has it been proven that walking is good for your physical health, it’s also great for getting to know new people in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.”
