CAR owners looking to scrap their unwanted vehicles can now do so for free, and benefit the environment at the same time.
The GiveACar scheme offers an easy way of disposing of discarded cars and will donate 75% of its scrap car proceeds to The Mersey Forest toward creating woodlands and green spaces.
Scrap cars will be salvaged and disposed of in an environmentally friendly fashion and help The Mersey Forest to plant trees with communities and create a greener, healthier local area.
Depending on a vehicle’s state of repair, it will either be sold at auction or disposed of at an authorised treatment facility.
GiveACar will then receive the payment and make your donation to The Mersey Forest, both of whom will send you a receipt.
And every car is valued – GiveACar guarantees a return so a vehicle in any condition can be transformed into a donation and make a valuable difference to The Mersey Forest.
Paul Nolan, director of The Mersey Forest, said: “Creating woodlands and green spaces with residents helps to improve their streets as well as bringing about more of a community feel.
“Supporting The Mersey Forest through GiveACar is a great way to improve the local environment in this way.”
To donate your unwanted car, visit givacar.co.uk (or call 020 0011 1664), fill in a simple form to get in touch and a collection agent will call to arrange a convenient time for vehicle collection. All cars, including those that do not start, can be picked up and will be taken within seven days of your initial inquiry, usually within three.
