Would your business like to help the community?

THIS week the Respect Action Programme (RAP) has been in Parkgate. The team covered up graffiti by painting the bus shelter at Mostyn Square and the walls of the public conveniences.

RAP is run by Streetscene at Cheshire West and Chester Council, which works in partnership with the Cheshire Probation Service and other partners.

The project sees some people found guilty of committing environmental crimes giving something back to the local area that they have damaged, by carrying out non-scheduled work to improve the local environment.

If you are a business and would like to offer support such as providing materials for RAP, Streetscene would like to hear from you.

Buildbase in Northwich is backing the campaign and has provided painting and cleaning materials as well as wheelbarrows and rubble sacks.

Stuart Burton, manager at Northwich Buildbase, said: “This is a really worthwhile project and we’re pleased to give it our backing and support in a practical way.

“As a builders’ merchant in Cheshire West and Chester we have long standing links within the area. We like to help community initiatives and this is clearly something which benefits lots of different groups and will restore pride in the local community.”

If like Buildbase you can help, contact Streetscene at Cheshire West and Chester on 01244 0300 123 7026.
