CHESTER: Until September 30 – Paintings by Rembrandt’s Workshop and Stubbs, lent by the Duke of Westminster to the Grosvenor Museum Art Gallery.

CHESTER: Until September 6 – Shadows: Colour in the Absence of Light – Pamela Field and Nicky Ferguson have worked together for five years, producing exhibitions and community workshops throughout Cheshire. For this exhibition in the Grosvenor Museum Gallery Two, they have studied shadows and created different works from this theme.

CHESTER: Until July 30 – Chester in Focus: 100 Years in Photographs from the 1860s to the 1960s – a photographic journey along the main streets of Chester, showing how the city has changed and developed during the age of photography, at Chester History and Heritage, St Michael’s Church.

FRODSHAM: Until August 3 – The Frodsham Story 1209-2009 – a pictorial history of 2000 years of development, photographs of present day Frodsham and images of local personalities form this fascinating exhibition at Castle Park Arts Centre. Ring 01928 735832.

RUNCORN: Until August 2 – My Giant Colouring Book by Jake and Dinos Chapman – the brothers came to prominence as part of the YBA (Young British Artists) movement of the 1990s, and featured in the Royal Academy’s seminal 1997 exhibition Sensation. This series of etchings sees the artists appropriating join-the-dot drawings from a children’s picture book.
