FRIDAY

WINSFORD: Frenzy, the North West’s biggest under 16s event, featuring top DJs at the Civic Hall from 7-10pm. Tickets £8.

SATURDAY

CHESTER: A Tudor Christmas – free drop-in event at Stanley Palace. Help prepare for Christmas with characters from a Tudor household and see how herbal remedies were used to keep people hale and hearty. Event runs from 10.30am-4.30pm.

CHESTER: Garden Quarter Christmas Fayre from 1 – 4pm at The Deaf Centre on South View Road. Stalls, refreshments, entertainment and children’s craft corner.

SUNDAY

HOPE: Circular walk: Winter Wonders – come for a five-mile winter wander through the beautiful countryside around Hope Mountain from 12.30-3.30pm. Wear sensible footwear and clothing. Booking essential on 01244 814931. Meet at Waun y Llyn car park.

MONDAY

CHESTER: Society of Thirteen joint lecture with the Royal Geographical Society on Three Wise Men: Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh by Christopher Bradley at the Grosvenor Museum, at 7.30pm.

TUESDAY

CHESTER: Chester Film Society screening of the 2007 German/Turkish film The Edge of Heaven at the Steam Mill in Steam Mill Street at 7.45pm. Tickets £3.50. Ring 01244 371750.

WEDNESDAY

CHESTER: Roman Saturnalia Patrade – Chester’s Roman army marches through the city with flaming torches in this annual celebration which starts from the Eastgate Clock at 7pm.
