Green Day musical American Idiot heads to Palace Theatre in Manchester

THE massively-successful chart-topping Green Day album American Idiot has been turned into a stage musical which comes to the Palace Theatre in Manchester from November 12-24.

It tells the story of three boyhood friends, each searching for meaning in a post 9/11 world and features the music of Green Day with the lyrics of its lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong.

Direction is by Tony Award-winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening), with choreography by Olivier Award-winner Steven Hoggett.

A spokesman said: “Direct from Broadway and based on the Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum album it featuring the hits Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, 21 Guns, Wake Me Up When September Ends, Holiday and the blockbuster title track American Idiot.
