A SHAKESPEARE classic visits the New Vic Theatre next week.
Internationally acclaimed Northern Broadsides has teamed up with the award-winning Newcastle-under-Lyme venue for comedic battle of the sexes Love’s Labour’s Lost which opens on Friday before embarking on a UK tour.
The King of Navarre persuades three friends to take a solemn vow to renounce worldly pleasures and embrace the contemplative life for three years.
But the arrival of the beautiful Princess of France and her three ladies-in-waiting throws a spanner in the works.
After wowing audiences and critics with We Are Three Sisters last year, Northern Broadsides presents the comedy to celebrate the beginning of their 20th anniversary year.
The cast features Adam Fogerty (who appeared in films such as Stardust, Snatch and Mean Machine) as Costard and Dean Whatton, who appeared in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and recently in Ricky Gervais’s new comedy, Life’s Too Short.
