Nantwich Players to perform Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps

DIRECT from the West End, Broadway and 25 countries around the globe, The 39 Steps comes to Nantwich next month – and tickets are on sale now.

Audiences may well recall the classic spy thriller Hitchcock film of ‘derring do’.

Now you have the opportunity to relive this tale on the stage at the Nantwich Players Theatre in Love Lane.

Despite about 140 characters appearing in the play, the Players are performing with just four actors.

Avril Allman is a relatively new member to The Players and says that in auditioning for one of the roles as a 'clown', she didn’t realise that she would be playing animals and inanimate objects as well as male and female parts. “But I’m having a ball, for this is such a funny play,” she added.

“While the plot is pretty similar to the original there are a few liberties taken. In fact quite a few!”

The play will run at the Players Theatre from February 10-18, with shows starting at 7.45pm each night.

Tickets, priced £7, always sell very quickly so get in early by dropping in at the Nantwich Tourist Information Centre on Market Street, or phone 01270 537359.
