Margi Clarke takes on role in Hormonal Housewives after Beverley Callard pulls out

SCOUSE actress Margi Clarke has stepped into the breach after Beverley Callard was forced to pull out of Hormonal Housewives.

The former Coronation Street star cited ill health as the reason for withdrawing from the show – which hits the Liverpool Empire on March 5 – but has been replaced in the lead role by Letter To Brezhnev and Benidorm actress Clarke.

Callard said: “I am so sorry that I will be unable to do this fantastic show, but I aim to be back on my feet in no time.”

Show spokesman Jamie Wilson said: “Myself and the producers of Hormonal Housewives are devastated that Beverley is unable to undertake the tour as she was perfect for the role and we do wish her a very speedy recovery.”

The play is described as a ‘sparkling comedy paying tribute to all ladies over a certain age’.

Hormonal Housewives hits the Liverpool Empire Theatre on Monday, March 5, at 7.30pm.

Tickets priced £19.50 can be booked by calling 0844 871 3017 or visiting www.atgtickets.com/liverpool
