WILL YOUNG is the latest star to announced a gig in the plush surroundings of Delamere Forest.
Hot on the heels of urban star Plan B, Young will be performing the gig as part of a string of events in the Forestry Commission Live Music programme.
In the 10 years since winning Pop Idol, Will Young has sold more than nine million records and crafted some of the deftest British music of his era.
This year the release of his fifth studio album, Echoes sees his musical career develop further.
The album, produced by Richard X, entered the charts at number one and has sold more than 300,000 copies in the UK so far.
The first single from the album Jealousy has been a top five chart and airplay smash and his most successful single in recent years.
He also recently had his own ITV ‘ A Night with...’ show which drew more than five million viewers, and has delivered live performances on a wide range of TV shows from The Jonathan Ross Show to Strictly Come Dancing.
A spokesman for the Delamere gig said: “Forestry Commission Live Music is an independent programme bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship.
“Income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife.
“With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere.”
Commenting on the tour, Will Young said: “The forest gigs have a great reputation for their atmosphere so I’m really looking forward to performing my songs in such unique settings.”
