Tribute to legend Johnny Cash comes to The Brindley in Runcorn

THE music of legendary country singer Johnny Cash is set to fill The Brindley when a popular tribute group comes to Runcorn.

Clive John And The Spirit Band are bringing The Johnny Cash Roadshow to the award-winning theatre on Saturday, February 4.

Audiences can expect to hear all of their favourite hits such as Ring Of Fire, Walk The Line, A Boy Named Sue, Hurt and One Piece At A Time.

The show will also include many well-known duets from Johnny and wife June Carter such as Jackson and Darling Companion.

From start to finish, the group will take an audience of all ages on the ultimate Johnny Cash experience in an energetic and entertaining performance.

A Brindley spokesman said: “The chemistry of Johnny and June will be brought to life on stage by an accompanying video projection which brings evocative images to each song.

“The images help to complete the story of the life of a legend from the 1950s right up until 2002, and all the stops in between.

“Clive John is an acclaimed singer and songwriter and in 2010 he released his seventh album, The Spirit.

“He formed The Spirit Band in 2006, and unlike a lot of other Johnny Cash tributes, harmony vocals are a big part of the group’s sound.”

The Spirit Band is made up of a number of musicians and vocalists including Nick Davis, Alan Parker, James Elliot-Williams and Manchester-born Jill Schoonjans who stars as June Carter.

The group have been touring for a number of years and were awarded five out of five stars from Ticketmaster reviews.
