HIGHLY rated indie band Proud Mary headline The Box in Crewe tomorrow (Friday).
Proud Mary are split between Manchester and LA, based around the nucleus of Greg Griffin and Paul Newsome.
Debut album The Same Old Blues was produced by Noel Gallagher and released on Gallagher’s own Sour Mash records.
Follow-up album Love and Light included indie chart hit Mexico and features work from Andy Rourke (The Smiths) and Gordon Raphael (The Strokes).
Over the years Proud Mary have supported Oasis, Neil Young, The Stereophonics, Paul Weller and Ocean Colour Scene. They are currently on tour in the UK to promote new album Ocean Park. Noel Gallagher described the band’s output as ‘a lesson in songwriting’.
The Crewe show features support from Stoke’s Carnation and Sound Casino, along with Taking Liberties from Northwich.
