Melanie C to play live at O2 Academy in Liverpool

MELANIE C catapults herself back on to the scene with a new album and UK tour which comes to Liverpool’s O2 Academy on Sunday, December 4.

Her new 11-track LP, The Sea, is out on Melanie’s own Red Girl Records.

The single Think About It is a sure fire dance-floor hit, while All About You is a soaring piano ballad co-written by Guy Chambers, Lauren Christie and Chuck Harmony.

In the past three years, Melanie has gone on the road with The Spice Girls for their acclaimed Reunion Tour, given birth to daughter Scarlet and made her theatrical debut, playing the part of Mrs Johnstone in West End hit Blood Brothers and was shortlisted in the London Evening Standard Theatre awards in Milton Shulman’s ‘Outstanding Newcomer’ category.

Since going solo back in 1999, Melanie C has enjoyed two number one singles, six top 10 singles and more than three million album sales.

But her success has not been confined to the UK. Her 2005 track First Day of My Life charted at number 1 in five European countries and sold more than 400,000 copies in Germany alone.

She launched her own label, Red Girl Records, in 2004 and has so far released two albums – 2005’s Beautiful Intentions and 2007’s This Time. The Sea is the third album to be released on the label.
