Liverpool trio team up for Legally Blonde at the Empire Theatre

A trio of top Liverpudlian talent will join the cast of hit musical Legally Blonde for its return to the Liverpool Empire in February 2012 after last summer’s tour premiere in the city.

Claire Sweeney will play Paulette, Ray Quinn plays Warner and Les Dennis takes the role of Professor Callahan.

Faye Brookes and Iwan Lewis, who received rave reviews in the tour’s premiere run in Liverpool, return to the roles of Elle and Emmett.

Rosemary Squire, ATG Tickets’ joint CEO, said: “It’s a great honour to be bringing Legally Blonde back to Liverpool as this is where we launched the UK tour in the summer and feedback from Empire audiences since then has been overwhelming.

“The show really stuck a chord with the people of Liverpool and it’s fantastic that we’ve got a local girl like Claire Sweeney appearing in the show when it returns to the city next year.”

Winner of seven major awards including the coveted Best Musical 2011 (Olivier Awards) this all singing, all dancing romantic comedy is about knowing who you are and showing what you’ve got.

Elle Woods can handle anything. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her, she decides to follow him to Harvard Law School and win him back. With some help from new-found friends Paulette, Emmett and her Chihuahua Bruiser, she learns that it’s so much better to be smart.

Directed by Tony and Olivier Award winning Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray), Legally Blonde The Musical has been a huge hit wherever it has played.

The show can be seen at the Liverpool Empire from February 7-11 next year. To book tickets, call 0844 871 3017 or visit www.atgtickets.com/liverpool.
