Don’t be late for New Vic Theatre’s Christmas pantomime Alice in Wonderland

DON’T be late for a very important date and make sure you catch the New Vic Theatre’s ‘magical and enchanting’ retelling of Alice in Wonderland this winter.

The popular Newcastle-under-Lyme theatre’s annual Christmas pantomime officially opened its doors on Saturday and runs until Saturday, January 21.

Theresa Heskins’ adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale has been described as ‘spellbinding’.

A theatre spokesman said: “This is the greatest children’s story of them all.

“A magical new production from the New Vic team that created last Christmas’s spectacular Peter Pan.”

“Join Alice as she journeys through a strange and enchanted new world.

“On your adventure you’ll meet the White Rabbit, take tea with the Mad Hatter, search for the Cheshire Cat and hide from a very bad-tempered Queen.

“This whimsical wonderland just gets curiouser and curiouser!

“It is a classic story which is brilliantly staged in the round.

“There really is no place like the New Vic for Christmas.”

Heralding the theatre’s recent production run as a great success, the Guardian described its annual winter production as ‘a wonderful box of theatrical tricks... bursting with invention’.

Show times vary throughout the run.
