Stutter rap singer Tony Hawks to play at The Brindley in Runcorn

TELEVISION and radio comedian, internationally best-selling author and Stutter Rap singer Tony Hawks is back on the road after a 10-year hiatus.

His new show includes stories, observations on life, a little bit of grumpiness, comedy songs, improvisation and audience participation as his life and career are brought together on stage.

There will be music (even perhaps his Stutter Rap hit with Morris Minor And The Majors), photos and film clips when he performs at The Brindley on Monday, November 28.

From Just A Minute, Grumpy Old Men, I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue and The Unbelievable Truth to Round Ireland With A Fridge, Playing The Moldovans At Tennis and Stutter Rap, everything in his eclectic career is covered.

Hawks is a regular on TV and radio panel shows including I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Just A Minute, The Unbelievable Truth and Have I Got News For You.

He first shot to prominence alongside Jo Brand on BBC monologue show The Brain Drain.

A Brindley spokesman said: “There may even be a few reflections on skateboarding and the possible appearance of a small white domestic appliance!”

Hawks said he is loving every moment of being back on stage after a decade focused on writing, radio and film making.

He said: “The show has evolved into a night of comedy variety and entertainment but I have been blown away by the reaction so far in the theatres.

“It is enormous fun to do, especially the improvisation sections as there is no room for complacency when I have no idea what questions the audience are going to throw at me each night!”

Tickets are on sale now priced £16 and £14 for concessions from The Brindley box office on 0151 907 8360 or online at www.thebrindley.org.uk
