Robert Powell, Ann Widdecombe, Paul Daniels and Johnny Cash Roadshow head to The Brindley, Runcorn

TELEVISION’S most recognisable magician, a former political heavyweight, and one of Britain’s best-loved actors, heads up The Brindley’s spring season.

Paul Daniels is probably as well-known for his catchphrases as he is for his magic tricks, with ‘now that’s magic’ and ‘not a lot!’ having been heard on the nation’s TV screens for more than 30 years.

Daniels, who famously sold all of his wigs on eBay – will be joined by his wife and assistant Debbie McGee on his Hair Today Gone Tomorrow tour, a show full of magic, comedy and amazement, on March 1.

Two more well-known faces will also make an appearance when legendary actor Robert Powell – who played the title role in Jesus Of Nazareth – appears alongside Elizabeth Garvie in A Celebration Of Jane Austen on May 27.

And there is an audience with Ann Widdecombe, the former shadow home secretary and star of Strictly Come Dancing, who will be discussing her life and answering the audience’s questions later in the year on October 30.

Soul legends The Drifters make two appearances on February 2-3, followed by The Johnny Cash Roadshow, a tribute to the man in black on Saturday, February 4.

There are more musical treats in store with legendary rock and rollers Showaddywaddy appearing on Saturday, March 3, performing all their hits such as Under The Moon Of Love, Heartbeat and Three Steps To Heaven.

Then the Classical Brit Award-winners Blake make a return on June 1.

There are also two tribute shows with Motown’s Greatest Hits on Saturday, June 16 and then The World’s Best Michael Jackson Tribute on September 21.
