Halton Council to launch From The Mouths Of Babes project

THE QUESTIONS puzzling adults will be answered by children in an innovative arts collaboration.

Award-winning playwright Kevin Dyer will kickstart the From The Mouths Of Babes project by leading creative workshops with adults in order to unearth life’s most perplexing questions – however big or small.

People from Halton are invited to come along on Monday, November 21, at 7.30pm with questions that young people will attempt to answer for use in the project.

Halton Borough Council’s arts development team’s Claire Bigley, who is behind the project, said: “The workshop is free to attend and adults with plenty of life experience are invited to join in.”

In the spring of 2012 artists will work with children in primary schools from across Halton to find out the answers to get them ‘straight from the mouths of babes’.

Using the material collected, a team of actors and writers will then work with ATT and director Nina Hajiyianni to make what organisers called a ‘dynamic and enlightening’ performance that reflects the surprising wisdom of the young. Performances will take place in October and November 2012.

A council spokesman added: “From The Mouths Of Babes is launched by Halton Borough Council in partnership with Chester Literature Festival, Cheshire Rural Touring Arts and The Brindley in Runcorn.

“If you are unable to attend the workshop you can still submit your question by e-mail.”

To submit a question online start the e-mail with ‘The thing that perplexes me is…’ and send it to writing@actiontransporttheatre.org
