Explore the luxurious lawns of the Grosvenor Estate at the Eaton Hall open days

EXPLORE acres of luxurious lawns lined with rose-filled flower beds and green house packed with exotic vines and ripening tomatoes as the Duke of Westminster opens his gardens.

On Sunday, August 28, visitors will be able to take a sneaky peek into the life of the Duke of Westminster as he opens the golden gates to his Grosvenor Estate at Eaton Hall, Eccleston, Chester.

Famous for their perfectly manicured lawns, wildflower and rose bed gardens, sculptures, fountains and lakes, the 88 acres of immaculately kept gardens have been opened to visitors to raise money for charity a few times a year since 1845.

And after a walk through the rose beds and green houses families can take the chance to explore the estate’s carriage museum and stables, before taking a look in the chapel where a glittering grotto made of thousands of shimmering shells has been built into the walls.

The Eaton Hall Garden Open Day at the Grosvenor Estate, Eccleston, Chester, will be held on Sunday, August 28. Gates open at 10.30-4pm. Admission costs £1 for children and £5 for adults.
