Oscar Wilde play The Importance of Being Earnest comes to The Brindley in Runcorn

OSCAR Wilde’s play The Importance of Being Earnest comes to Runcorn in September.

The Brindley will host the latest production by the award-winning Centenary Theatre Company.

The famous play is a popular comedy in which two gentlemen maintain fictitious personas in order to escape burdensome obligations.

Its high farce and witty dialogue have helped make The Importance of Being Earnest Wilde’s most enduringly popular play.

A spokeswoman for the group said: “What better way to cure the autumn blues than to join us for our September play.

“Make sure you’re there to enjoy a fantastic night of entertainment!”

The theatre company recruits regularly in Halton and has been established for more than 100 years.

It had recent success at the NODA awards with its November 2010 musical Titanic, performed to sell-out audiences.

The Importance of Being Earnest will be performed at The Brindley from September 6-10.

Tickets cost £13.
