HOT on the heels of Russell Kane, fellow comedian Mark Watson and singer Joe Longthorne will be taking to The Brindley stage later in the year.
Runcorn was voted one of the 50 towns that TV comic Watson should visit on his 2011 tour, and so the Edinburgh Fringe regular has been pencilled in for October 19, with the gig promising to be one of the highlights of The Brindley’s autumn and winter season.
Also on the programme is bestselling writer and comedian Tony Hawks.
Music is well represented with performances by the Chris Barber Band, Joe Longthorne – who heads to the venue on November 4, the Celtic Tenors, and Halton’s annual Bluegrass Festival.
Theatre includes Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Ernest, Killer– the Jerry Lee Lewis Story, Willy Russell’s Breezeblock Park and a tribute to the late British comedy actress Beryl Reid.
Fans who missed Leeds-based Phoenix Dance Company’s Declarations at the Liverpool Playhouse last year can catch it at the Brindley in November.
Other dance shows include In Love With the Dance, part of the Liverpool Irish Festival, Magical Extravaganza on Ice and Ballet Cymru’s Beauty and the Beast.
