Stars of reality TV show The Only Way is Essex cast their judgment on fashion at Chester Races last week.
The show’s Sam and Billie Faiers took time out from judging the go-style.co.uk best dressed competition last Friday to chat to the Chronicle.
The sisters, who run fashion boutique Minnies in Brentwood, were visiting the city for the first time and went to nightclub Cruise after an evening at the races.
“It seems really nice,” said Billie.
“We just got to the hotel, got ready and came straight here so we haven’t had much of a chance to look round.”
The pair, who were invited to the event by Warrington’s Golden Square Shopping Centre, were on the lookout for the most stylish couple of the evening.
Sam said: “We’re looking for someone smart. I think the man should look smooth and slick in a suit and I’m not too sure what I’m looking for for the girl, just someone with a nice dress or skirt and suit jacket and something nice in her hair.”
She added: “Chester style seems quite similar to Essex, especially here because everyone’s got their hair and make-up done and is looking nice.”
The third series of the BAFTA award-winning show is due to be aired in September and filming has a big impact on the girls’ lives.
“We film for six to eight weeks and during that time we can’t schedule anything socially,” said Sam.
“If you want to go shopping for the day or shoot off for a few days on holiday you can’t so it is quite restricting.”
This series could see some new faces in the line-up.
Billie said: “It’s likely there will be new characters but we don’t know who they might be yet.”
Anyone coming into the series has to have a link with one of the cast members.
The Faiers sisters fit in their TV careers around running Minnies.
Sam said: “It’s pretty much seven days a week for us.
“Minnies is doing really well and we’re hoping to have an online shop launching toward the end of the year.”
Viewers of the second series of the show, known as TOWIE, saw Sam find love with club promoter Joey Essex.
She said: “Things with me and Joey are good although I haven’t seen him for about a week because we’re both so busy. We’re fine but it’s just hard to juggle our lifestyles with seeing each other.”
