Music legend Johnny Mathis to play MEN Arena in Manchester

THE legendary Johnny Mathis returns to the MEN Arena in Manchester for one of only three concerts in the UK this year.

Tickets for the Sunday, October 16 show are priced £45 and £55.

Universally hailed as one of the greatest male vocalists of his time, Johnny Mathis will return to Manchester for his first show in more than five years to perform tracks from his greatest hits back catalogue.

Mathis has been entertaining audiences since the mid-50s with his laid-back brand of lush pop music including the hits A Certain Smile, Twelfth Of Never, Winter Wonderland, I’m Stone In Love With You and the classic When A Child Is Born.

The Texan-born performer has seen three of his singles inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame – 1957’s Chances Are and It’s Not For Me To Say and 1959’s Misty – and received his own Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003.

The 2011 UK tour announcement follows the release of Johnny’s latest studio album Let It Be Me: Mathis In Nashville - his first foray into country classics.
