Ruth Lorenzo is used to giving star studded performances.
She did it every week on live TV in front of millions on The X Factor, and now the Spanish diva is to bring her own touch of glamour to Cheshire when she performs at the Bolesworth Classic and Country Fair on Saturday, June 11.
The annual showjumping event, held in the grounds of Bolesworth Castle near Tattenhall, is one of the grandest equestrian events in the country, playing host to elite riders and showjumpers.
And Murcia-born Ruth, who will be spending the night at the castle after her performance, says she can’t wait to sing in such a “special and romantic place”.
She said: “I am really looking forward to coming to Cheshire. One of the great things about being in The X Factor has been the chance to see more of the UK.
“It’s such an amazing country, with its history and heritage and I love learning about the different places I visit here.
The 29 year old added: “I’ll be bringing my guitar and play a couple of my new songs, which I hope people will enjoy hearing.
“And of course, I’ll also be performing those big numbers from The X Factor, which I know people love to hear.”
Since leaving X Factor in 2008, Ruth has concentrated on writing her own songs and travelling the world learning about the music business.
The last year has been a busy one for Ruth, working with her band The Raspberry Pattern, on her album and new single Burn, released in July.
But despite her success, the success hasn’t gone to her head.
“It’s been an incredible education for me but I think the most important lesson I’ve got from the whole experience is to never forget where you came from,” she says.
“It’s been a wonderful time. You’re in this amazing bubble, which is great but you must never forget your roots or where you came from.”
And hopefully she won’t get too homesick during her stay at Bolesworth, thanks to the horses that remind her of her Spanish homeland.
“I love horses, they are such an important part of Spanish culture,” she enthuses.
“I’m really looking forward to watching some of the showjumping at Bolesworth – who knows, I may even get to ride one of the horses!”
Castle owner Diana Barbour, former High Sheriff of Cheshire expressed her delight at having Ruth perform at the Big Night Out.
She said: “The Big Night Out is something different and should be really special. It will be wonderful to have Ruth here and I hope she enjoys her stay in this lovely part of the country.”
Tickets for the Bolesworth Big Night Out, which begins with a champagne reception at 7.30pm, cost £40 and include dinner, are available from the website www.bolesworthclassic.com.
